Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Used SPOT for a trip a couple of days ago. Close to 300 data points were collected and show correctly on SPOT page. Share page on SPOT is working fine, but SpotWalla is polling/showing only the last 50 data points, which unfortunately don't cover the trip of interest. I created the trip on SpotWalla AFTER the fact with a window that covers part of the weekend, but when I display the trip, only the world map shows. Can you point me in the right direction? Why is SW only importing the last 50 points? Thank you! Skipper
Hey, Skipper. So one of the checks SpotWalla makes before polling a device is to ensure that it's being used for something. For instance, an active trip or the device is joined to an active location page or there are active email notifications, etc.
I encourage you to create a year-long trip and leave it active. This will ensure your device is periodically polled and prevent gaps in locations as well.
Thankfully, your shared page still has all the data. I'm forcing SpotWalla to recover all that data. By the time you read this all your data should be in your account.
Hi Jason. I'm having the same issue. So far Spotwalla is showing 58 of 250ish waypoints. Can you assist? JGD
Unfortunately your shared page no longer has 250-ish locations. If they're still in your SPOT account, though, you can export them as GPX and upload them to your device in SpotWalla. Here's a help page on uploading:
PS: This is my first experience with SpotWalla and so far I am very impressed. Right now I'm just trying to "rescue" my data from SPOT, since this was a rental unit that I was trying out and they do not provide any real services for those units, but I am looking forward to using SW on the trip we are about to embark upon with other devices.
